Day 1: Arrival in Lima, where you will be picked up at the airport and transferred to your hotel.

Night: Casa Andina.

Day 2: After our flight to Chiclayo we will transfer to Chaparri Lodge, where we will spend the next two nights. We will stop close to the short to see Gray ,Gray headed Gull and more.

Night: Chaparri Lodge

Day 3: After an early breakfast we will hit the trails to look for the endemic Tumbes Tyrant and White-winged Guan. This bird is flourishing here now thanks to a captive breeding and reintroduction program. After a full morning of birding we will return to the lodge for lunch, then return to the trails to look for Oasis and Tumbes Hummingbirds, plus much more.

Night: Chaparri Lodge

Day 4: This morning we will drive to Bosque de Pomac where we will search for the endemic Rufous Flycatcher and Peruvian Plantcutter. After an enjoyable picnic lunch we will continue on to Abra Poculla, a good place to find the endemic Piura Chat-Tyrant.

Night: Remanso Hotel.

 


Day 5:
Early this morning we will head back to Abra Porculla to try and find additional species that we may have missed before, as well as specialties such as Rufous-necked and Henna-hooded Foliage-gleaners, Chapman's Antshrike, Black-cowled Saltator, and Purple-collared Woodstar. After another relaxing picnic lunch with a mountain view, we will travel to Seminario Roude [is that Seminar Road???] and look for Chinchipe Spinetail, Purple-throated Euphonia, Maranon Crescentchest, and more.

Night: Gran Hotel Jaen

Day 6: After an early breakfast we will start for Pomacochas, stopping at Bagua Chica on the way to look for the endemic Little Inca Finch and Tataupa Tinamou. After lunch we will continue on in to Pomacochas.

Day 7 :
This morning our main target will be the most beautiful hummingbird in the world: the Marvelous Spatuletail! After lunch we will head for Abra Patricia and the Owlet Lodge, our home for the next three nights.

Day 8: This morning we will spend concentrated time looking for antpittas the old-fashioned way . It may take time, but we hope to find Chestnut, Rusty-tinged, and Ochre-faced Antpittas to name a few. We'll also search for the endemic Lulus Tody-flycatcher. In the afternoon we will concentrate our birding around the main road, looking for Royal Sunangel as well as other specialties.

Night: Owlet Lodge

Day 9: Today we'll take an excursion down to Aguas Vedes, where we will look for Andean Cock of the Rock, Ash-breasted Antwren, and multiple species of tanagers if we can find a feeding flock or two!

Night: Owlet Lodge

Day 10: After a final morning of birding around Abra Patricia, we'll head back to Chiclayo, where we'll spend the night.

Night: Inti Hotel.

DAY 11: Today we fly back to Lima and catch our individual flights home.
