Sword Billed Expeditions is an Ecuadorian-based company with many years’ experience in tourism and guiding in-country. Our goal is to provide the best service and expertise for you, the customer, while at the same time striving to protect the environment and the wildlife you come here to enjoy. Ten percent of the profit made from every tour is dedicated to the purchase of land essential to the conversation of our rarest and most threatened species. If you would like to be a part of this dream (and experience the most fabulous birding in the Americas), please contact us!
WHY THE NAME? We chose the Sword-billed Hummingbird as our “mascot” because this stunning creature is one of the most sought-after birds by birders visiting Ecuador; people love to see it, and it’s little wonder why that is so!
We have various guides specializing in general nature, birding, and culture, who are eager to share their knowledge and experiences with you! Every one of our guides are native Ecuadorians and are certified by the Government of Tourism to work legally in Ecuador. They “know their stuff” and are committed to excellence, and we’re very proud of that! Our team is not only professional, but each member connects well with their clients and becomes more than just “the guide”: he becomes a true friend!
